The point farthest from Earth's centre isn't the top of Everest.

It's the summit of Chimborazo in Ecuador. Earth bulges at the equator, so although Chimborazo is about 2.5 km lower than Everest above sea level, its summit is about 2 km farther from the planet's centre.
